The 1 critical thing you’re probably not considering in your apartment search (but should!)

This classic 'Eat' sign is a good reminder to consider eatability in your next apartment search.
A lot of factors go into choosing an apartment:  rent, amenities, proximity to work … and, of course, eatability.

What's eatability? Glad you asked!

It's quite simple, really – it is the eateries within walking or close driving distance. It's the food locations that you will end up visiting on a regular basis. They can be restaurants, delis, fast food, convenience stores – anything with food counts!

A great way to figure out what is around your potential apartment is to hop on a site like Yelp. Read reviews, look for different types of food and check their hours of operations. After all, you never know when you will need a falafel at 3 a.m.!

For a more-traditional approach, take a stroll around the neighborhood. Take in the sights and smells and even try a few quick bites. Not only is this little adventure fun, but it's informative as well.

So the next time you're looking for a new apartment home, make sure you factor in eatability. Your stomach will thank you.
