Leasing Agent wrestles into Hall of Fame

February 12th 2016

Essex associates excel inside and outside of the office! Chris Zook, one of Essex’s outstanding leasing agents and a former student-athlete of Long Island University's Brooklyn campus was enshrined as one of the newest members of LIU’s Athletics Hall of Fame.

The first wrestler to ever be inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame, Zook helped the Blackbirds to four winning seasons during his time at LIU Brooklyn. Serving as team captain, Zook helped LIU to an 8-3 record as a senior as he compiled a 5-1 record in dual meets.

“His dedication and hard work appears to have been with him for a long time. Chris has been on the top leasing agents in the PNW portfolio for multiple years,” says Eric Poorman, community manager at Joule.

A standout student-athlete, Zook earned a third-place finish at Met Championships as a sophomore and was the Provost Award recipient after a junior year that saw him post an undefeated record in dual meets. The induction ceremony and dinner was held at the Barclays Center (where the Brooklyn Nets and New York Islanders play) as part of LIU Brooklyn's Homecoming 2016, which celebrated 90 years of campus life.

On behalf of the Essex community, huge congratulations Chris!
