Just call this your “Summer To-Do List.” Elton John admirers, old-school hip-hop fans and “Radioactive” Imagine Dragons followers, bring your dance shoes—this has a lot for everyone.
OysterFest, Golden Gate Park, May 9
Want to kick off summer a month early? So do we! What better way to do it than at OysterFest? Make your way to the always-gorgeous Golden Gate Park and catch the feel-good tunes of Warren G and Grandmaster Flash. Catch some oysters too! From four delicious areas: California; Baja; the Pacific Northwest; and the Atlantic Northeast. Be sure to bring some napkins. For only one day, and on a Saturday, it’s OK to indulge.
BottleRock Napa Valley, May 29-31
It’s technically not the Bay Area, but it’s a great excuse to sneak in some wine tasting. Make the quick drive to Napa to enjoy this “Music in the Vineyards” event. You can “Drop it Like it’s Hot” to Snoop Dogg, reminisce with No Doubt’s “It’s My Life” and lace up your pumped-up kicks, because Foster the People and the rest of this exciting lineup are ready to make you dance the weekend away.
Outside Lands, Golden Gate Park, August 7-9
Now established as a go-to destination for all music festival goers, Outside Lands has it all, from Choco Lands (think dessert lounge), to Beer Lands (self-explanatory), to a raucous comedy tent. Not to mention Elton John. And food. We need both.
Check out the amazing lineup here.
