The Analyst will be an integral team member with accountability for fundamental research at Essex, including data analytics, econometric forecasting and spatial modelling, as well as field research to support proprietary data collection and topical analyses.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Research fundamental trends in macro- and microeconomics to drive continuous improvement in the firm’s proprietary forecasting models. Leverage data science tools to quantify new trends impacting multifamily real estate.
Incorporate novel data-sets and advanced analytics to harvest value-added insights relative to residential property, including both investment strategy and property operations.
Effectively distill findings from analytics projects into actionable executive presentations.
Assist in the design and implementation of data pipelines that enhance the productive value of proprietary internal metrics and new external data sources.
Leverage field research to investigate catalysts related to construction trends, employment growth, infrastructure development, and regulatory initiatives impacting residential real estate.
Bachelors degree in statistics/data science, computer science, mathematics, or quantitative economics.
Experience with data science tools is required, including proficiency in programming in R and/or Python.
Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style.
